After a rather tough play, Šņores's Raitis Spulis got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Ritvars Smilgainis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdis Rulevics having to interfere. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind PFK Smiltnieki's goalkeeper Valdis Rulevics, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, PFK Smiltnieki's Valdis Rulevics got control of the ball when Raitis Spulis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valts Sietiņsons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. In the last second Valdis Rulevics throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ritvars Smilgainis in the 27thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Raitis Spulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdis Rulevics having to interfere. Ritvars Smilgainis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Valdis Rulevics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herberts Kreigers kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind PFK Smiltnieki's goalkeeper Valdis Rulevics, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Raitis Spulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Šņores defense, Valts Sietiņsons kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilgvars Pengerots. The Šņores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilgvars Pengerots should have stopped the shot. After the first half PFK Smiltnieki were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ritvars Smilgainis made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Raitis Spulis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Šņores's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raitis Spulis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Godfrīds Belzaks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ilgvars Pengerots made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zandis Zingers in the 77th minute of play. Valdis Rulevics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jānis Kovals, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd match minute, PFK Smiltnieki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandis Cebergs to maneuver through the defense. Ritvars Smilgainis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdis Rulevics having to interfere. Jānis Kovals received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Valdis Rulevics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Šņores lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
