Agnis Tamans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Druvis Botāns in the 4th minute. Agnis Tamans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Druvis Botāns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edijs Mežols succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 11th playminute. Edijs Mežols could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Agnis Tamans made a huge save. In the 16th minute Edijs Mežols shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnis Tamans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Normunds Purviņš kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Agnis Tamans. That made the score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Neftchi Baku FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jānis Serpovskis to maneuver through the defense. Druvis Botāns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edijs Mežols had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edijs Mežols's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agnis Tamans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Oto Petersons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agnis Tamans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viesturs Vidavs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oto Petersons kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Druvis Botāns struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Agnis Tamans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polkas. Rainers Snikis hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Druvis Botāns was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Neftchi Baku FC defense, Druvis Botāns kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agnis Tamans. The Neftchi Baku FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agnis Tamans should have stopped the shot. If Edijs Mežols had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agnis Tamans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viesturs Vidavs in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Druvis Botāns in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Agnis Tamans saved Neftchi Baku FC from getting behind. After 65 minutes of play, Polkas's Druvis Botāns made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agnis Tamans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sandis Tobiass struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Agnis Tamans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polkas. Viesturs Vidavs took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agnis Tamans. Agnis Tamans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. After 80 minutes Neftchi Baku FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sandis Tobiass who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jēkabs Pampavs got free with Gints Levans in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jēkabs Pampavs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Gints Levans made a huge save. Agnis Tamans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Druvis Botāns in the 86th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Druvis Botāns sped through Neftchi Baku FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Agnis Tamans. In the 92nd minute Ilgonis Nosuls shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gints Levans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agnis Tamans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Druvis Botāns, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Polkas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
