Leons Gudrenieks ran over to the corner to take the kick. Piotr Tworek had great luck who in the 11thth minute grab hold of the ball when Knuts Plekss from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Andris Paupers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Viesturs Pilāns put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fredis Bilēvics. After 18 played minutes Knuts Plekss rounded FC Iecēni's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After 20 minutes, Viesturs Pilāns made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. FK Poolisti's Fredis Bilēvics tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andris Paupers got free with Piotr Tworek in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, FK Poolisti's goal looked a bit too open when Olavs Eliass came free, but Fredis Bilēvics reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fredis Bilēvics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viesturs Pilāns, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Fredis Bilēvics stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viesturs Pilāns's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Marek Hamšík shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredis Bilēvics saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, FC Iecēni's goalkeeper Piotr Tworek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andris Paupers. In the 40th minute, Knuts Plekss reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Piotr Tworek. The goal made the score 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arvīds Maģiskais during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes FK Poolisti got a freekick which was hit by Arvīds Maģiskais. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marek Hamšík made a kick off. Marek Hamšík scored 2-3 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fredis Bilēvics, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When FK Poolisti's Knuts Plekss in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Piotr Tworek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. After 77 played minutes FC Iecēni got a freekick which was hit by Viktors Behmans. Marek Hamšík scored 3-4 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fredis Bilēvics, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fredis Bilēvics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Hamšík in the 84th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Knuts Plekss in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Piotr Tworek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fredis Bilēvics took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marek Hamšík, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mairis Strautnieks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Iecēni walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
