Spectators: 6930 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1930, VIP seats: 0) Adolfas Sadauskas started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. FBK Nikelay's Algimantas Lapėnas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Regimantas Bučinskas in the 4th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Vakaris Bilota put in a rough tackle. 13 minutes into the game, one of FBK Nikelay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Champions of Lithuania. Laimonas Tarvydas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Algimantas Lapėnas. 0-1. The Champions of Lithuania fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Champions of Lithuania's Algirdas Damulis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Girkantas Komskis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Algimantas Lapėnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Champions of Lithuania were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Regimantas Bučinskas was the one to do the kick off. Vaclovas Mikšys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bronius Ginevičius, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. A collision led to Champions of Lithuania getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Eidvilas Dabriška hit a great ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Bronius Ginevičius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FBK Nikelay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bronius Ginevičius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bronius Ginevičius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Girkantas Komskis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Champions of Lithuania's Gražvydas Pakintis got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Champions of Lithuania's zone, Aras Paškevičius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vaclovas Mikšys came out of the goal and Aras Paškevičius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bronius Ginevičius in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vaclovas Mikšys saved Champions of Lithuania from getting behind. Algimantas Lapėnas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 76th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. When Marius Baltaragis fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FBK Nikelay's protests and gave Marius Baltaragis a yellow card for diving instead. Marius Baltaragis kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ligitas Norgėla in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vaclovas Mikšys prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bronius Ginevičius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaclovas Mikšys having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Champions of Lithuania's Gvidas Gabnys got a free kick in the 94th minute. Ligitas Norgėla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaclovas Mikšys having to interfere. Champions of Lithuania played a much better game than FBK Nikelay and deserved their victory. The FBK Nikelay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
