The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, FK Kiškiai's goal looked a bit too open when Klemensas Bazaras came free, but Aivaras Vėlius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aivaras Vėlius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundas Šernas, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the match, FK Kiškiai's goal looked a bit too open when Kastytis Norkūnas came free, but Aivaras Vėlius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimondas Kuodys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bronislovas Baliukonis in the 16th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Klemensas Bazaras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aivaras Vėlius. FK Kiškiai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Klemensas Bazaras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Klemensas Bazaras took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aivaras Vėlius. Aivaras Vėlius dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Aivaras Vėlius didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundas Šernas went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Aivaras Vėlius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundas Šernas in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, FK Kiškiai's goal looked a bit too open when Kastytis Norkūnas came free, but Aivaras Vėlius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34thth minute of the game Klemensas Bazaras who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Kiškiai's Aivaras Vėlius was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th match minute, UNITED Kaunas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinaras Pilipavičius to maneuver through the defense. After 44 played minutes UNITED Kaunas got a freekick which was hit by Skirmantas Vainauskas. After 44 played minutes, FK Kiškiai's Redas Karbauskas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raimondas Kuodys came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FK Kiškiai reached it. If Jurgis Stanevičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

With a little luck, FK Kiškiai's Aivaras Vėlius got control of the ball when Klemensas Bazaras tried to sneak it across the goal line. Raimondas Kuodys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donatas Andužis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Skirmantas Vainauskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundas Šernas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Aivaras Vėlius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aivaras Vėlius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundas Šernas in the 62nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FK Kiškiai's zone, Klemensas Bazaras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aivaras Vėlius came out of the goal and Klemensas Bazaras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. UNITED Kaunas made a substitution. Klemensas Bazaras in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Klemensas Bazaras succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 69th playminute. After 73 minutes of play, UNITED Kaunas's Dinaras Pilipavičius made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aivaras Vėlius was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 79 minutes, Raimundas Šernas made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. FK Kiškiai's Aivaras Vėlius tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Klemensas Bazaras's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aivaras Vėlius firmly grabbed it by the left post. 84 minutes into the match, Klemensas Bazaras dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aivaras Vėlius, 0-8. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundas Šernas in the 92nd minute of play forced FK Kiškiai's goalkeeper Aivaras Vėlius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Žygimantas Birbilas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
