With a left leg Juozapas Daktaras saved FC Gayzunay 66 from getting behind. 42 minutes into the game, Robertas Vertelis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Gayzunay 66's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FK ATLANTAS the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Cãpraru in the 44th minute of play forced FC Gayzunay 66's goalkeeper Juozapas Daktaras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as FK ATLANTAS's Tadas Obrikis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juozapas Daktaras. That made the score 2-0 after 45 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tadas Obrikis was the one to do the kick off. FK ATLANTAS's Liudas Vainoras managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Algimantas Nekrošius in the 52 minute of the game. A hard shot 56 in the game by Robertas Vertelis from a close distance when the talented Mantas Balabonas managed to make a qualified save. FK ATLANTAS's players were relieved. Juozapas Daktaras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadas Obrikis in the 57th minute of play. If Robertas Vertelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Juozapas Daktaras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tadas Obrikis's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Igor Cãpraru managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK ATLANTAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Cãpraru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juozapas Daktaras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Oskaras Daknevičius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Algimantas Nekrošius charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Algimantas Nekrošius the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
