An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristinel Eftimiu in the 52nd minute of play forced Kandys's goalkeeper Remigijus Žirgulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristinel Eftimiu got free with Remigijus Žirgulis in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lenny Hoarau in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonas Mažeika prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olaf Irion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigijus Žirgulis having to interfere. Algitas Daškevičius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kandys:s Remigijus Žirgulis showed great skill when he stopped Cristinel Eftimiu:s penalty. Owe Simmelkiær hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Wolves's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Kandys had won, even though Wolves had held more of the ball.
