With a little luck, Vovousa FC's Sotiris Pasamichalis got control of the ball when Andreas Kallitzakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 11 minutes, Lefteris Latsis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vovousa FC and the Panathinaikos AO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Vovousa FC got a freekick which was hit by Lefteris Latsis. Markos Stathis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Markos Stathis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panathinaikos AO's supporters rose to their feet, but Markos Stathis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sotiris Pasamichalis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lefteris Latsis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Vovousa FC's zone, Alekos Verikios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sotiris Pasamichalis came out of the goal and Alekos Verikios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the last second Sotiris Pasamichalis throw himself and got hold of the ball when Markos Stathis in the 22ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Andreas Kallitzakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotiris Pasamichalis having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Giorgos Paridis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Markos Stathis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sotiris Pasamichalis. Markos Stathis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Lefteris Latsis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Alekos Verikios managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panathinaikos AO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alekos Verikios was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute Alekos Verikios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sotiris Pasamichalis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Alekos Verikios managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panathinaikos AO's supporters rose to their feet, but Alekos Verikios was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sotiris Pasamichalis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andreas Kallitzakis was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Markos Stathis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sotiris Pasamichalis was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Sotiris Pasamichalis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markos Stathis in the 55th minute of the match. When Alekos Verikios came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Panathinaikos AO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alekos Verikios couldn't finish the play. Vrasidas Xenopanagos hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Andreas Kallitzakis made a precise shot to the right of Sotiris Pasamichalis. Vovousa FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Alekos Verikios might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sotiris Pasamichalis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alekos Verikios ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Andreas Kallitzakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Panathinaikos AO's Paschalis Chatziantoniou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lefteris Latsis in the 73rd minute of play. A collision led to Vovousa FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Lefteris Latsis hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Vovousa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alekos Verikios came free, but Sotiris Pasamichalis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alekos Verikios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sotiris Pasamichalis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Kallitzakis in the 85th minute of the match. Andreas Kallitzakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotiris Pasamichalis having to interfere. Panathinaikos AO walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
