Spectators: 7750 (Terracing: 5814, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stergios Mavrokordatos started the match with the kick off. Stergios Mavrokordatos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benê de Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, PAOK NEAPOLI's goal looked a bit too open when Fanis Thanos came free, but Kostas Loukidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Fanis Thanos put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kostas Loukidis. Fanis Thanos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alesandro Del Piero in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kostas Loukidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kostas Loukidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alesandro Del Piero in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to PAOK NEAPOLI getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Aris Papadopoulos hit a great ball. Alesandro Del Piero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Fanis Thanos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 32 minutes into the match, Greek Saints's Fanis Thanos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kostas Loukidis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th match minute, PAOK NEAPOLI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spyros Tachtsidis to maneuver through the defense. When Periklis Mitrakos fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PAOK NEAPOLI's protests and gave Periklis Mitrakos a yellow card for diving instead. Marcus Senna shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Kostas Loukidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fanis Thanos went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Fanis Thanos struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Kostas Loukidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Greek Saints. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alesandro Del Piero was the one to do the kick off. Kostas Loukidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alesandro Del Piero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alesandro Del Piero did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Kostas Loukidis 55 minutes into the match. If Fanis Thanos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Alesandro Del Piero lined in a short shot 0-10 behind a frustrated Kostas Loukidis. In the 87th minute, Koulis Bachramis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kostas Loukidis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-11. Fanis Thanos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alesandro Del Piero was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 95 minutes, Alesandro Del Piero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Greek Saints's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alesandro Del Piero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
