PAOK NEAPOLI's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Giorgos Voulgaris 7 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 19th minute, Thomas Stavrou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Thomas Stavrou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Thomas Stavrou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in PAOK NEAPOLI's zone, Thomas Stavrou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostas Loukidis came out of the goal and Thomas Stavrou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Stavrou in the 58th minute of play forced PAOK NEAPOLI's goalkeeper Kostas Loukidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vlassis Charoulis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Anestis Fanakos made a huge save. Kostas Loukidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Stavrou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69thth minute of the game Thomas Stavrou who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PAOK NEAPOLI's Kostas Loukidis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aris Papadopoulos during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fragiskos Kanakis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kostas Loukidis having to make a save. Gortynia's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
