The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Feliberto Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thodoris Vamvakeris came out of the goal and Feliberto Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 played minutes Toumpa got a freekick which was hit by Apostolos Malliaras. Nikos Sardelis kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Feliberto Batista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thodoris Vamvakeris was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Thodoris Vamvakeris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliberto Batista in the 40th minute of play. Thodoris Vamvakeris came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Toumpa's Feliberto Batista. But to his dismay, Feliberto Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Toumpa were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Feliberto Batista to strike the kick off in the second half. Feliberto Batista's late challenge caught a Chelsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliberto Batista helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chelsea booed when Toumpa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Themis Mitakos hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Chelsea's Thodoris Vamvakeris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Chelsea from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute, Apostolos Malliaras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giorgos Sterpis struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Thodoris Vamvakeris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toumpa. A hard shot 68 in the game by Feliberto Batista from a close distance when the talented Thodoris Vamvakeris managed to make a qualified save. Chelsea's players were relieved. Ilias Roumeliotis kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Alkinoos Fanaras took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edmundo Grimes. Toumpa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chatziantoniou Veniamin might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmundo Grimes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chatziantoniou Veniamin ran back to his position shaking his head. Ilias Roumeliotis hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match Alkinoos Fanaras sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmundo Grimes skillfully saved the ball. If Feliberto Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Giorgos Sterpis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmundo Grimes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stathis Mandrinos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chelsea's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Feliberto Batista scored to the left of an out of position Thodoris Vamvakeris, making the score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliberto Batista in the 90th minute of play forced Chelsea's goalkeeper Thodoris Vamvakeris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Thodoris Vamvakeris managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Toumpa's Feliberto Batista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
