Christos Chatzikostas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Nikos Stratzalis charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nikos Stratzalis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lakis Kaltsas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Stratzalis in the 15th minute of the match. New Olympiacos FC's Lakis Kaltsas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikos Stratzalis in the 18th minute of play. Lakis Kaltsas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vaios Spanidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lambros Bachramis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christos Chatzikostas having to interfere. If Nikos Stratzalis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of New Olympiacos FC booed when GALISSAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petros Likouriotis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikos Stratzalis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lakis Kaltsas having to make a save. In the 31st match minute, GALISSAS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaios Spanidis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vaios Spanidis in the 35th minute of play forced New Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Lakis Kaltsas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, New Olympiacos FC's Lambros Bachramis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christos Chatzikostas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vaios Spanidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lakis Kaltsas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lambros Bachramis to make the kick off. Nikos Stratzalis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 played minutes New Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Panos Sakaridis. In the 56thth minute of the game Vaios Spanidis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Olympiacos FC's Lakis Kaltsas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. New Olympiacos FC's Lambros Bachramis got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in GALISSAS FC's zone, Lambros Bachramis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christos Chatzikostas came out of the goal and Lambros Bachramis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to GALISSAS FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Alexandros Venoukas hit a great ball. When Stratos Atmatzidis came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the New Olympiacos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stratos Atmatzidis couldn't finish the play. If Nikos Stratzalis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
