Spectators: 7541 (Terracing: 5991, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stratos Kalantas made the kick off which started today's match. Panathinaikos's Takis Stratis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Panathinaikos from getting a goal against them. 4 minutes into the match, Panathinaikos's goal looked a bit too open when Babbis Venetis came free, but Takis Stratis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Themis Filippakos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Takis Stratis made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Babbis Parlapidis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tymoteusz Pysz. Volos NFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Babbis Parlapidis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 13th minute Thanos Fanatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Takis Stratis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Babbis Venetis during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Panathinaikos booed when Volos NFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Babbis Venetis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stratos Kalantas in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tymoteusz Pysz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ermis Tsilikas's late challenge caught a Volos NFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ermis Tsilikas helped the player get up and apologised. Ermis Tsilikas kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Takis Stratis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavlos Kassapis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Themis Filippakos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Volos NFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Themis Filippakos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Takis Stratis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Takis Stratis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanos Fanatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Stratos Kalantas scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tymoteusz Pysz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute, Volos NFC's Themis Filippakos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Takis Stratis. Takis Stratis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. When Panathinaikos's Stratos Kalantas in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Volos NFC's goalie prevented a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Themis Filippakos to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Isidoros Patinios mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panathinaikos and the Volos NFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Volos NFC got a freekick which was hit by Nikitas Christodoulos. Takis Stratis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanos Fanatos in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Ermis Tsilikas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panathinaikos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Stratos Kalantas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-4 to the left of a surprised Tymoteusz Pysz 71 minutes into the match. Kostas Samanoglou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute Stratos Kalantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tymoteusz Pysz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 played minutes Volos NFC got a freekick which was hit by Babbis Venetis. Tymoteusz Pysz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Babbis Parlapidis in the 81st minute. Loukas Vozoras made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Panathinaikos's Babbis Parlapidis. Stratos Kalantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tymoteusz Pysz made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Omiros Stamatelopoulos sent off a good shot on target. Stratos Kalantas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tymoteusz Pysz came out and tried to block the shot, but Stratos Kalantas slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 93rd minute. Panathinaikos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
