A sloppy throw-in by Stelios Mathiopoulos in the 3rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rodiakos FC's Pavlos Bouras. Stelios Mathiopoulos made in the 5th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Rodiakos FC's Giannis Drambas. Stelios Mathiopoulos charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stelios Mathiopoulos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, PANATHINAIKOS's Stelios Mathiopoulos got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Menelaos Kokkalopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Rodiakos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Menelaos Kokkalopoulos couldn't finish the play. Louis Mitsotakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Menelaos Kokkalopoulos in the 10th minute of play. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Louis Mitsotakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rodiakos FC. 18 minutes into the game, PANATHINAIKOS's Fanis Papafotiou nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kostas Drakos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Mitsotakis having to interfere. Fanis Papafotiou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kostas Drakos having to interfere. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Louis Mitsotakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos's late challenge caught a PANATHINAIKOS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, PANATHINAIKOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelios Mathiopoulos to maneuver through the defense. Louis Mitsotakis was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Menelaos Kokkalopoulos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Menelaos Kokkalopoulos sped through PANATHINAIKOS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Louis Mitsotakis. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After having played for 51 minutes, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodiakos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Menelaos Kokkalopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 53 minutes into the game, Anastasios Mitropoulos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PANATHINAIKOS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rodiakos FC the free kick. Iakovos Kabourakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Louis Mitsotakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodiakos FC's Iakovos Kabourakis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Stelios Mathiopoulos in the 58 minute of the game. After some careless play in the PANATHINAIKOS defense, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Louis Mitsotakis. The PANATHINAIKOS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Louis Mitsotakis should have stopped the shot. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Louis Mitsotakis. Louis Mitsotakis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Rodiakos FC's Alexis Katzos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Stelios Mathiopoulos, made in the 69th minute of the game. In the 73rd minute, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rodiakos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. PANATHINAIKOS's Louis Mitsotakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menelaos Kokkalopoulos in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute of the game Ignatios Tsigounakis made a throw-in which Paris Iosifakis played forward. Louis Mitsotakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Menelaos Kokkalopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 87th play minutes Menelaos Kokkalopoulos shot 6-1, a short shot which went by Louis Mitsotakis and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 93rd minute, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodiakos FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
