Sofoklis Batiropoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigel Encuțu in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Asteras BC's Sofoklis Batiropoulos got control of the ball when Gigel Encuțu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sofoklis Batiropoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akis Vakouftsis in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 37th minute of the match, Gigel Encuțu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sofoklis Batiropoulos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Asteras BC's Sofoklis Batiropoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theodosis Poniridis in the 38th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Epirus Celtics's Gigel Encuțu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sofoklis Batiropoulos. That made the score 2-2 after 41 minutes of play. Sofoklis Batiropoulos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigel Encuțu went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Epirus Celtics's Theodosis Poniridis got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gigel Encuțu made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Gigel Encuțu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Epirus Celtics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gigel Encuțu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sofoklis Batiropoulos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Viktoras Kabouras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 77th minute, Akis Vakouftsis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Asteras BC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Vaggelis Verginas hit a great ball. Sofoklis Batiropoulos came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Epirus Celtics's Gigel Encuțu. But to his dismay, Gigel Encuțu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Sofoklis Batiropoulos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Akis Vakouftsis went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-3 was the resulting score. In the 88th minute, Panos Kessaris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gigel Encuțu fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
