The Highway to Hell fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Highway to Hell's Habib Al Zamel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Byrne John managed to get in a good position for a shot. Highway to Hell's supporters rose to their feet, but Byrne John was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giorgos Stavrakas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Panos Papadimos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrián Urbieta in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Avraam Labiris reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Panos Papadimos. The goal made the score 1-3. Habib Al Zamel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Giorgos Stavrakas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Highway to Hell supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Highway to Hell would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
