P.A.O.K FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Argonautes Irakliou the free kick. Xavion Profitos hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15th match minute, Argonautes Irakliou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Bouzinekis to maneuver through the defense. After 18 played minutes P.A.O.K FC got a freekick which was hit by Theocharis Toulipas. Themistoklis Lefkopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, P.A.O.K FC's Miltos Kastanis threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nilson Paraíba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Balaban Haliloğlu fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored P.A.O.K FC's protests and gave Balaban Haliloğlu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Argonautes Irakliou booed when P.A.O.K FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balaban Haliloğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Themistoklis Lefkopoulos hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Hans-Hermann Möhn kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. If Nilson Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute of the match, Nilson Paraíba tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Miltos Kastanis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. P.A.O.K FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stan Van De Velden in the 42nd minute. Giannis Asimos charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giannis Asimos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Argonautes Irakliou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giannis Asimos to maneuver through the defense. Argonautes Irakliou's Miltos Kastanis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Argonautes Irakliou from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilson Paraíba to make the kick off. Miltos Kastanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentinos Nebegleras, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Markos Santamouris got free with Michalis Papaefthimiou in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miltos Kastanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Paraíba in the 60th minute of the match. Mathias Jansen hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Mathias Jansen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute Valentinos Nebegleras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miltos Kastanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 67 minutes, Stratos Balarinas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argonautes Irakliou's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stratos Balarinas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, P.A.O.K FC's Michalis Papaefthimiou got control of the ball when Markos Santamouris tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michalis Papaefthimiou didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giannis Komaitis went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Stratos Balarinas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michalis Papaefthimiou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. P.A.O.K FC's Michalis Papaefthimiou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save P.A.O.K FC from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute, Panos Kazatzis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miltos Kastanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Paraíba in the 92nd minute of the match. Nilson Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miltos Kastanis having to interfere. The P.A.O.K FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Argonautes Irakliou's performance. The match ended with a win for Argonautes Irakliou.
