After 3 minutes, Theofanis Serifis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HEMP and the Olympiacos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, HEMP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theofanis Serifis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timos Kolleris in the 7th minute of play forced HEMP's goalkeeper Grzegorz Tyskie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olympiacos FC's Victoriano Frans got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, HEMP's Aleksey Chachko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dimitris Michopoulos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of HEMP booed when Olympiacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vrasidas Mantelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theofanis Serifis in the 15th minute of play forced Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Dimitris Michopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Stathis Stoltidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Tyskie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Vrasidas Mantelis made a precise shot to the right of Grzegorz Tyskie. HEMP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. HEMP's Grzegorz Tyskie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Makis Dimitrakis in the 25th minute of play. Dimitris Michopoulos made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Argyris Karantonis sent off a good shot on target. If Theofanis Serifis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Olympiacos FC's Timos Kolleris got a free kick in the 30th minute. Dimitris Michopoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Argyris Karantonis in the 32nd minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Timos Kolleris put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Grzegorz Tyskie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksey Chachko in the 39th minute of play forced Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Dimitris Michopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match, Argyris Karantonis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dimitris Michopoulos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 45th minute of the match HEMP got a corner. Olympiacos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 56th minute Argyris Karantonis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitris Michopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Vrasidas Mantelis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Grzegorz Tyskie, 2-3. HEMP's Grzegorz Tyskie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stathis Stoltidis in the 64th minute of play. Grzegorz Tyskie made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Timos Kolleris sent off a good shot on target. Dimitris Michopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Argyris Karantonis in the 78th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Artemio Mambru got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dimitris Michopoulos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 81st minute, Stathis Stoltidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Argyris Karantonis came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the HEMP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Argyris Karantonis couldn't finish the play. In the 85thth minute of the game Argyris Karantonis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympiacos FC's Dimitris Michopoulos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Theofanis Serifis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stathis Stoltidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Grzegorz Tyskie made a huge save. Olympiacos FC's Dimitris Michopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleksey Chachko in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Olympiacos FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
