Laurențiu Susara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 4th minute of the match. Allan Corrigan took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Laurențiu Susara. Laurențiu Susara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Themos Leontiadis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panionios MK's supporters rose to their feet, but Themos Leontiadis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurențiu Susara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 19 minutes of play, Saronida FC's Valerios Voutsas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alketas Bourouselos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Themos Leontiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laurențiu Susara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themos Leontiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes Panionios MK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Karl-Heinz Schneider who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Karl-Heinz Schneider almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos did a great save. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saronida FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Argyris Ksagorarakis was slow to take the kick. During this time Panionios MK's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Panionios MK's Argyris Ksagorarakis to fire away a dangerous shot which Laurențiu Susara despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Valerios Voutsas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alketas Bourouselos having to make a save. Alketas Bourouselos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valerios Voutsas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valerios Voutsas in the 42nd minute of play forced Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurențiu Susara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Themos Leontiadis in the 44th minute. Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Heinz Schneider in the 45th minute of play. The Saronida FC fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Saronida FC's Valerios Voutsas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Saronida FC's Laurențiu Susara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themos Leontiadis in the 51st minute of play. Allan Corrigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurențiu Susara having to interfere. Saronida FC's Louis Dentsas was substituted for Christoforos Iordanakos. Saronida FC made a substitution. Jânio Medeiros replaced Valerios Voutsas. Stratos Karatzas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Saronida FC's Jânio Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jânio Medeiros. Laurențiu Susara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute Themos Leontiadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurențiu Susara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jânio Medeiros in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alketas Bourouselos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A throw-in in the 78th minute of the game was made by Panos Kabourakos with Kostas Petriniotis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 81stth minute of the game Jânio Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alketas Bourouselos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jânio Medeiros in the 82nd minute. A collision led to Panionios MK getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Antonis Linardakis hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jânio Medeiros in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alketas Bourouselos saved Panionios MK from getting behind. Alketas Bourouselos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Heinz Schneider's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Jânio Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alketas Bourouselos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Panionios MK's attentive Fondas Giannakakis managed to snatch the ball when Louis Dentsas made a throw-in in the 94th minute of the game. The Saronida FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saronida FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
