Alejandro Rubin hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Sheriff from getting a goal against them. Zheng Yang Zhen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Yahia van der Saar came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by ΠΑΟΚ FC's Zheng Yang Zhen. But to his dismay, Zheng Yang Zhen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zheng Yang Zhen in the 19th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sheriff defense, Zheng Yang Zhen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yahia van der Saar. The Sheriff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yahia van der Saar should have stopped the shot. If Telis Lianos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Mendonça in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Sotiris Zacharakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özbek Samet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Clayton Gol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Özbek Samet. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clayton Gol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Aris Bonoris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Özbek Samet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Zheng Yang Zhen made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, Clayton Gol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Özbek Samet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Özbek Samet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu in the 53rd minute of play. Sheriff's Kutay Erbaş was substituted for Aris Bonoris. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Savas Karameris was substituted for Theofanis Klotsobounidas. In the 68th minute, Sheriff's Telis Lianos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Oso in the 71st minute of play. Özbek Samet made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Clayton Gol sent off a good shot on target. 76 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Petros Mirtsos came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batuhan Secaat hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Kutay Erbaş. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Oso in the 79th minute of play. Clayton Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Özbek Samet made a huge save. In the 84th minute, Damaso Xacintu made a precise shot to the right of Özbek Samet. ΠΑΟΚ FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Clayton Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Özbek Samet made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Sheriff's zone, Zheng Yang Zhen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yahia van der Saar came out of the goal and Zheng Yang Zhen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Telis Lianos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Özbek Samet. That made the score 2-6 in the 94 minute of play. Sheriff's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
