After having played for 3 minutes, Roope Lätti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westbay FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roope Lätti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hemmo Peltonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roope Lätti in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, one of Mennen FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lasse Leppilampi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Rainer Palonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rainer Palonen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lasse Leppilampi's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Rainer Palonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antti Blom in the 17th minute of the match. Veli Kivi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hemmo Peltonen having to interfere. Roope Lätti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Hemmo Peltonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Roope Lätti reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hemmo Peltonen. The goal made the score 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Westbay FF's zone, Lasse Leppilampi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rainer Palonen came out of the goal and Lasse Leppilampi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antti Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Westbay FF getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Pertti Kaven hit a great ball. Hemmo Peltonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veli Kivi in the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lasse Leppilampi was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Lasse Leppilampi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hemmo Peltonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pertti Kaven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lasse Leppilampi came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Mennen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lasse Leppilampi couldn't finish the play. In the 60th match minute, Mennen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arttu Timonen to maneuver through the defense. Veli Kivi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Hemmo Peltonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Roope Lätti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Westbay FF fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Westbay FF's Roope Lätti looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lasse Leppilampi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rainer Palonen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Niko Rimpilä hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Mennen FC's Ari Vehanen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Westbay FF. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mennen FC's goalkeeper Hemmo Peltonen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lasse Leppilampi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdemar Johansson kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Roope Lätti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Hemmo Peltonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mennen FC's Johannes Huikari got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 92 minutes Mennen FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leif Nylund who took care of the corner kick. Westbay FF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mennen FC for a fine match.
