The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Petri Kuusela kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Mika Uitto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pauli Tuokko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jukka Viander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarmo Toivanen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toivo Karhunen's late challenge caught a fc nix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toivo Karhunen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, Tunderi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toivo Karhunen to maneuver through the defense. When Martti Torkkeli fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored fc nix's protests and gave Martti Torkkeli a yellow card for diving instead. Martti Torkkeli hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes fc nix got a freekick which was hit by Martti Torkkeli. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tero Pikkarainen got free with Pauli Tuokko in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otto Lindström to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Tunderi's Taisto Uotila got a free kick in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otto Lindström in the 55th minute of play forced Tunderi's goalkeeper Pauli Tuokko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taisto Uotila hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Tuukka Puikkonen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jukka Viander made a huge save. Tuukka Puikkonen struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jukka Viander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tunderi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarmo Toivanen in the 69th minute of play forced fc nix's goalkeeper Jukka Viander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in fc nix's zone, Jarmo Toivanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jukka Viander came out of the goal and Jarmo Toivanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tero Pikkarainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tunderi getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Taisto Uotila hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otto Lindström in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pauli Tuokko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jukka Viander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarmo Toivanen in the 85th minute of play. After 86 played minutes fc nix got a freekick which was hit by Mika Uitto. 94 minutes into the match, Tunderi's goal looked a bit too open when Martti Torkkeli came free, but Pauli Tuokko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
