JJ Puujalat's Juhana Salo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olli Torkkeli in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Paul Hartikainen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juhana Salo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuure Ruhanen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Asmo Ruohiainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Reima Kokkila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paul Hartikainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hemminki Korkeamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reima Kokkila having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, JJ Puujalat's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Hartikainen came free, but Juhana Salo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Hartikainen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juhana Salo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Asmo Ruohiainen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul Hartikainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Juhana Salo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Hemminki Korkeamäki made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hemminki Korkeamäki in the 56th minute of play forced Taati FC's goalkeeper Reima Kokkila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Taati FC's Tuure Ruhanen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juhana Salo. That made the score 0-1 after 60 minutes of play. Reima Kokkila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hemminki Korkeamäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tuure Ruhanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes, Kalevi Eloranta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JJ Puujalat and the Taati FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, JJ Puujalat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalevi Eloranta to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in JJ Puujalat's zone, Paul Hartikainen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juhana Salo came out of the goal and Paul Hartikainen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juhana Salo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daavid Santala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Paul Hartikainen came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Taati FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paul Hartikainen couldn't finish the play. If Olli Torkkeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
