When Tauno Jämsen came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Passoja FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tauno Jämsen couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Taati FC's Tuure Ruhanen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antto Riihijärvi. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. Saul Saastamoinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Taati FC's Daavid Santala got a free kick in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuure Ruhanen in the 38th minute of play forced Passoja FC's goalkeeper Antto Riihijärvi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Saul Saastamoinen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Passoja FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Saastamoinen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tuure Ruhanen was the one to do the kick off. Saul Saastamoinen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Reima Kokkila firmly grabbed it by the left post. Saul Saastamoinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kerkko Raisanen charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kerkko Raisanen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Tuure Ruhanen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mika Willman during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 61 played minutes Passoja FC got a freekick which was hit by Mika Willman. Paavo Harikkala was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Passoja FC's Antto Riihijärvi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tuure Ruhanen in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Mika Willman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Paul Hartikainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antto Riihijärvi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kerkko Raisanen hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Tuure Ruhanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antto Riihijärvi having to interfere. Antto Riihijärvi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Hartikainen in the 84th minute of play. Paul Hartikainen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antto Riihijärvi having to make a save. Antto Riihijärvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuure Ruhanen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Taati FC had played much better football throughout.
