After 3 played minutes FC Lasinilkat got a freekick which was hit by Alpi Korpisalo. SC Gunners's Matti Manneroos got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hannu Huokko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miika Ojanen having to make a save. 10 minutes into the match, FC Lasinilkat's goalkeeper Miika Ojanen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matti Manneroos. Pentti Halonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Lasinilkat booed when SC Gunners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eero Moskuvaara didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hannu Huokko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Hannu Huokko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miika Ojanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Lasinilkat's Miika Ojanen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lasinilkat from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute of the match Pekko Huikari shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miika Ojanen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aappo Luhtio in the 31st minute of play forced SC Gunners's goalkeeper Miikka Vauhkonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Matti Manneroos came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the SC Gunners fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matti Manneroos couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the match, SC Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Pentti Halonen came free, but Miikka Vauhkonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pentti Halonen to make the kick off. SC Gunners's Matti Manneroos got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alpi Korpisalo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Pentti Halonen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lasinilkat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pentti Halonen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pentti Halonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Miikka Vauhkonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Askolin kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, FC Lasinilkat's Paul Virolainen broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 73rd minute Pentti Halonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miikka Vauhkonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Hannu Huokko managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Gunners's supporters rose to their feet, but Hannu Huokko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miika Ojanen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benjamin Askolin kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Miikka Vauhkonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pentti Halonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Benjamin Askolin hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. SC Gunners's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
