The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ohto Hiukka in the 6th minute of play forced Metalupuass's goalkeeper Toimi Lindberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Metalupuass getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Miika Santahuhta hit a great ball. In the 10th minute of the match Kim Kuuri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toimi Lindberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Miska Jokiranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Toimi Lindberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Ohto Hiukka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toimi Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perttu Perälä showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vesa Vähä in the 22nd minute of the match. FC Jäätävä Polte's Perttu Perälä played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vesa Vähä in the 23rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raine Kirjonen in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Perttu Perälä prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the FC Jäätävä Polte defense, Raine Kirjonen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Perttu Perälä. The FC Jäätävä Polte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Perttu Perälä should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vesa Vähä in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Jäätävä Polte's goalkeeper Perttu Perälä to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Perttu Perälä made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vesa Vähä in the 38th minute of play. Ohto Hiukka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Metalupuass's Vesa Vähä got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Perttu Perälä took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raine Kirjonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Metalupuass were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ohto Hiukka to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Eeli Määttä hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Raine Kirjonen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Vesa Vähä managed to get in a good position for a shot. Metalupuass's supporters rose to their feet, but Vesa Vähä was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perttu Perälä breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eeli Määttä hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Vesa Vähä sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FC Jäätävä Polte's Perttu Perälä got control of the ball when Vesa Vähä tried to sneak it across the goal line. 0-3 became the score in the 79th minute when Raine Kirjonen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Perttu Perälä took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raine Kirjonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vesa Vähä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonni Mäkinen during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of FC Jäätävä Polte:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Metalupuass:s goal. Eemeli Kamppunen shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 98 minutes into the match, FC Jäätävä Polte's goalkeeper Perttu Perälä had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vesa Vähä.
