After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Maunu Ahonen managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC.Bosna's supporters rose to their feet, but Maunu Ahonen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Veikko Suoraniemi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Vaasan Palloseura players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. During the 52nd minute of the match Topi Kulonen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Topi Kulonen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Vaasan Palloseura getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Topi Kulonen hit a great ball. Jaakkima Heinikainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veikko Suoraniemi having to interfere.
