With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfred Caspersson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kalman Salminen scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfred Caspersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfred Caspersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuutti Jokiranta in the 13th minute of play. 狄银铮 took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Caspersson. Alfred Caspersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Heinolahti FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rauli Paavola didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Heinolahti FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfred Caspersson should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the match, Heinolahti FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lu Cheng Di came free, but Alfred Caspersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Manchester United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
