Ari Hakanpää took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sulevi Reinikainen. Sulevi Reinikainen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 24thth minute of the game Nuutti Vauhkonen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kannonjärvi IFK's Sulevi Reinikainen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Kultapossukerho:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kannonjärvi IFK:s goal. In the 29th minute, Erno Myllyniemi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kannonjärvi IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Kannonjärvi IFK were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Kultapossukerho's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Klaus Saira took the corner. Klaus Saira made a great header on Kannonjärvi IFK's corner, it was just that Kultapossukerho's Elbert Hand managed to reach the ball for a save. 42 minutes into the match, Ari Hakanpää had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sulevi Reinikainen. Kannonjärvi IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ari Hakanpää was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Niko Petriläinen came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Kultapossukerho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niko Petriläinen couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arvi Uusitalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erno Myllyniemi took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elbert Hand. Elbert Hand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Elbert Hand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erno Myllyniemi in the 56th minute of play. If Klaus Saira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute Niko Petriläinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sulevi Reinikainen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute Erno Myllyniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elbert Hand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elbert Hand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erno Myllyniemi in the 75th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuutti Vauhkonen in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sulevi Reinikainen saved Kannonjärvi IFK from getting behind. Klaus Saira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Erno Myllyniemi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elbert Hand. Kultapossukerho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erno Myllyniemi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Sulevi Reinikainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niko Petriläinen in the 90th minute of the match. The Kultapossukerho supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kannonjärvi IFK's performance. The match ended with a win for Kannonjärvi IFK.
