When Leif Kuki, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 5 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Kauno Timmonen was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Rikhard Alatalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilhelm Palonen having to interfere. Kontula Kickers were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Pojo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aki Järventaus took the corner. The corner led Kontula Kickers's Aki Järventaus to fire away a dangerous shot which Kauno Timmonen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Aki Järventaus put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kauno Timmonen. Kontula Kickers's Vilhelm Palonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keijo Järvensivu in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Rikhard Alatalo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pojo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kontula Kickers the free kick. Pojo's Rauli Liimatainen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vilhelm Palonen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 28th minute of the match, Juho Marttinen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vilhelm Palonen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aki Järventaus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Kauno Timmonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kauno Timmonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pellervo Koivunen, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Pojo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Rasmus Vapamaa scored to the left of an out of position Kauno Timmonen, making the score, 1-2. Pojo made a substitution. Taisto Laaksonen replaced Teijo Okkonen. In the 82nd minute, Alpi Nutikka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taavetti Noponen in the 92nd minute of play forced Kontula Kickers's goalkeeper Vilhelm Palonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Kontula Kickers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pojo throughout the match.
