Rikhard Alatalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Peter Schmeichel made a huge save. 7 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rikhard Alatalo. Kauno Timmonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Beckham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Schmeichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Saira in the 14th minute of the match. Kauno Timmonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Beckham, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Manchester United FC got a corner. Pojo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eero Uusipaavalniemi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eero Uusipaavalniemi made a great header on Manchester United FC's corner, it was just that Pojo's Kauno Timmonen managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Davide Beckham got a free kick in the 20th minute. Erno Myllyniemi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Peter Schmeichel made a huge save. Rauli Liimatainen kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Taisto Kamppunen fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pojo's protests and gave Taisto Kamppunen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Taisto Kamppunen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pojo's Kauno Timmonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pojo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eero Uusipaavalniemi was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester United FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 38th minute Eero Uusipaavalniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauno Timmonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kauno Timmonen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Taisto Kamppunen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Rikhard Alatalo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Peter Schmeichel. Rikhard Alatalo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eero Uusipaavalniemi to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Eero Uusipaavalniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauno Timmonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Kuoppala got free with Kauno Timmonen in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peter Schmeichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaus Saira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Taisto Kamppunen in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Schmeichel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eero Uusipaavalniemi got free with Kauno Timmonen in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, Rikhard Alatalo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Manchester United FC's Peter Schmeichel. Peter Schmeichel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pojo made a substitution. Taavetti Noponen replaced Taisto Kamppunen. Manchester United FC's Eeli Niinimäki was substituted for Valdemar Kuoppala. Peter Schmeichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taavetti Noponen in the 95th minute of the match. Pojo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
