After a rather tough play, Viivikonna's Virgo Salusaar got a free kick in the 12th minute. Koit Pukk took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Neeme Nurmik. Neeme Nurmik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Karjamaa's Kaimo Mikiver in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Viivikonna's goalie prevented a goal. Endel Sõõr stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Janari Raik's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Neeme Nurmik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaimo Mikiver, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Tarmo Mustpea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaimo Mikiver made a kick off. Kaimo Mikiver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Karjamaa's Kaimo Mikiver in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Karjamaa's goalkeeper Endel Sõõr, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvar Anton during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 69 minutes Karjamaa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Udo Raks who took care of the corner kick. In the 72nd minute, Koit Pukk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neeme Nurmik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaimo Mikiver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Janari Raik came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Viivikonna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Janari Raik couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the game, Virgo Salusaar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viivikonna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karjamaa the free kick. Viivikonna's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
