Peeter Tarien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jüri Käärt in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Mikk Nuiaots was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karlova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tealama the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jüri Käärt in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peeter Tarien saved Tealama from getting behind. If Mikk Nuiaots had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikk Nuiaots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peeter Tarien having to interfere. Jüri Käärt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Peeter Tarien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mikk Nuiaots in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peeter Tarien prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27thth minute of the game Mikk Nuiaots who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tealama's Peeter Tarien was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jüri Käärt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peeter Tarien having to interfere. If Jüri Käärt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tealama getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Oodo Sõelsepp hit a great ball. Mikk Nuiaots sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jürgen Kalle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martti Kont having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uudo Aas was the one to do the kick off. Peeter Tarien was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Jüri Käärt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jüri Käärt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 57 minutes into the match, Karlova's goal looked a bit too open when Uudo Aas came free, but Martti Kont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 minutes, Avo Valvik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karlova and the Tealama players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tealama booed when Karlova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avo Valvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uudo Aas might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martti Kont. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
