Spectators: 7488 (Terracing: 5617, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jan Lille started the match with the kick off. Väino Keskküla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paavo Remmel in the 3rd minute of play. If Eiko Laadi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rene Kadarpik during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Viru Wõitlejad's Rene Kadarpik got a free kick in the 8th minute. A hard shot 9 in the game by Helmut Laev from a close distance when the talented Väino Keskküla managed to make a qualified save. Viru Wõitlejad's players were relieved. Kivijarve's Ago Lipping played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ander Arro in the 10th minute of play. Väino Keskküla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Helmut Laev in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Innar Avitaja in the 14th minute of play forced Viru Wõitlejad's goalkeeper Väino Keskküla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Aron Vana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Kivijarve's Paavo Remmel got a free kick in the 18th minute. Jan Lille fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ago Lipping having to interfere. When Rene Kadarpik was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 24 minutes had been played. Rene Kadarpik kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After 28 minutes, Kalju Kroon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viru Wõitlejad and the Kivijarve players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kivijarve booed when Viru Wõitlejad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kalju Kroon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Viru Wõitlejad's goalkeeper Väino Keskküla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Helmut Laev. In the 32nd match minute, Viru Wõitlejad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Lille to maneuver through the defense. If Aron Vana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kivijarve's Jürgen Üksvärav got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute Ander Arro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ago Lipping saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ago Lipping took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ander Arro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Viru Wõitlejad's Ander Arro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ago Lipping narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Ander Arro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Innar Avitaja made a kick off. Ander Arro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ago Lipping tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ander Arro came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ago Lipping could save by the left post. Helmut Laev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ander Arro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viru Wõitlejad's supporters rose to their feet, but Ander Arro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ago Lipping breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Väino Keskküla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Innar Avitaja's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Viru Wõitlejad were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Kivijarve to leave the ground with a draw.
