The supporters of Sokyula booed when Santos Tartu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Ahjupera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sokyula's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduard Nõmmsalu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tambet Org breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 36 played minutes Santos Tartu got a freekick which was hit by Pearu Vaarandi. When Eduard Nõmmsalu came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Sokyula fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduard Nõmmsalu couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Eikki Usin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 played minutes Santos Tartu got a freekick which was hit by Pearu Vaarandi. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Eduard Nõmmsalu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tambet Org having to interfere. Tom Kingisepp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tambet Org read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Tom Kingisepp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tambet Org saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tambet Org made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Nõmmsalu in the 75th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Eino Ahju got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute, Elmu Hütt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sokyula's Kalmer Loik didn't even have to move. If Kardo Luige had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Sokyula's Tom Kingisepp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tambet Org narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
