With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joakim Vennerström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Dune's Witold Mnich sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joakim Vennerström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Illimar Valgupera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aivar Kalde might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heiko Raal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aivar Kalde ran back to his position shaking his head. The FC Kopli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joakim Vennerström should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Witold Mnich made a kick off. In the 53rd minute FC Kopli were awarded a corner. Pankracy Sochacki went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Pankracy Sochacki got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Heiko Raal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 54th minute, Arni Hea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Witold Mnich got free with Joakim Vennerström in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
