Hector Yfantis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ptolemeos Vassilopulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zacharias Katsivalis hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Lefteris Routsis kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When Jamal Bowen came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Anorthosis Famagusta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamal Bowen couldn't finish the play. Leonid Burenin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aigis Mandrapilias, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Jamal Bowen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Hector Yfantis made a huge save. Jamal Bowen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hector Yfantis having to make a save. Jamal Bowen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hector Yfantis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Agix Barraboutis hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Leonid Burenin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aigis Mandrapilias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Kapaneus Karnoupakis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Anorthosis Famagusta FC's Leonid Burenin. Leonid Burenin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 27 minutes of play, Anorthosis Famagusta FC's Nour Al Safi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hector Yfantis was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 31st minute Aigis Mandrapilias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonid Burenin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Tsambí BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kapaneus Karnoupakis to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Tsambí BC booed when Anorthosis Famagusta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iakobos Saatsakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th match minute, Tsambí BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacharias Katsivalis to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Tsambí BC's goalkeeper Hector Yfantis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jamal Bowen. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aigis Mandrapilias made a kick off. A collision led to Tsambí BC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Kithairon Orfanos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ptolemeos Vassilopulos in the 52nd minute of play forced Tsambí BC's goalkeeper Hector Yfantis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute Anorthosis Famagusta FC were awarded a corner. Agix Barraboutis went to the cornerflag to take it. Agix Barraboutis made a great header on Anorthosis Famagusta FC's corner, it was just that Tsambí BC's Hector Yfantis managed to reach the ball for a save. Zacharias Katsivalis's late challenge caught a Anorthosis Famagusta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zacharias Katsivalis helped the player get up and apologised. Zacharias Katsivalis hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Anorthosis Famagusta FC's Agix Barraboutis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tsambí BC. Troizen Diplarakos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leonid Burenin. Anorthosis Famagusta FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tsambí BC's Hector Yfantis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamal Bowen in the 63rd minute of play. Hector Yfantis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jamal Bowen's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Lefteris Routsis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ptolemeos Vassilopulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kithairon Orfanos kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Anorthosis Famagusta FC's Leonid Burenin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Anorthosis Famagusta FC from getting a goal against them. In the 78th match minute, Tsambí BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kapaneus Karnoupakis to maneuver through the defense. Antaios Fotopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Yfantis having to interfere. After 81st play minutes Jamal Bowen shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Hector Yfantis and just under the crossbar into goal. Zacharias Katsivalis was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Antaios Fotopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anorthosis Famagusta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antaios Fotopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nour Al Safi took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hector Yfantis. Hector Yfantis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1.
