The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Leukothoe Forakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester city. In the 69th match minute, Anorthosis Famagusta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dardanos Papageorge to maneuver through the defense. Aiolos Solomos kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, Anorthosis Famagusta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lykos Batsakis to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Leukothoe Forakis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 75th minute, Lynkeus Horiatis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaineus Lipsanos's late challenge caught a Anorthosis Famagusta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaineus Lipsanos helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes Manchester city got a freekick which was hit by Kaineus Lipsanos. 88 minutes into the match, Anorthosis Famagusta FC's goalkeeper Leukothoe Forakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lynkeus Horiatis. Lynkeus Horiatis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leukothoe Forakis having to interfere. Manchester city's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Anorthosis Famagusta FC had won, even though Manchester city had held more of the ball.
