Edgar Rahne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud Nistelrooy in the 9th minute of the match. Gary Neville charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gary Neville the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gary Neville hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Kaineus Rigatos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Nea Salamis's Kaineus Rigatos got a free kick in the 18th minute. Antonio De Messemaecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Panathinaikos f.c's Edgar Rahne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruud Nistelrooy in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Ruud Nistelrooy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Rahne. Panathinaikos f.c's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruud Nistelrooy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Ruud Nistelrooy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Rahne was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. 29 minutes into the match, Ruud Nistelrooy notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Panathinaikos f.c's Edgar Rahne. Edgar Rahne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edgar Rahne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Nistelrooy in the 33rd minute of play. In the 48th minute, Pipo Inzaghi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 52 minutes into the game, Ruud Nistelrooy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgar Rahne. Ruud Nistelrooy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Edgar Rahne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pipo Inzaghi, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute of the match Nea Salamis got a corner. Panathinaikos f.c's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pipo Inzaghi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Akestes Manetas was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Ruud Nistelrooy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Pipo Inzaghi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nea Salamis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Edgar Rahne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipo Inzaghi in the 68th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruud Nistelrooy got free with Edgar Rahne in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruud Nistelrooy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Edgar Rahne made a huge save. Edgar Rahne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pipo Inzaghi's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the game, 石义寒 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Panathinaikos f.c fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar Rahne should have stopped the shot. Ruud Nistelrooy took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Rahne. Edgar Rahne dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. A collision led to Panathinaikos f.c getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Babbis Antipas hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Kaineus Rigatos made a precise shot to the right of Edgar Rahne. Panathinaikos f.c's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. Pipo Inzaghi charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pipo Inzaghi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nea Salamis's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
