The Glasgow fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Nassos Stamatelopoulos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Srećko Soldo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Glasgow's Srećko Soldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Glasgow from getting a goal against them. Srećko Soldo had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Nassos Stamatelopoulos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Apollon Limassol's goalkeeper Teo Constancio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lykurgos Georgenes. If Lykurgos Georgenes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Alkyoneus Pavli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Apollon Limassol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glasgow the free kick. In the 65th minute, Alkyoneus Pavli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Apollon Limassol's Teo Constancio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Polychronopoulos in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute Glasgow were awarded a corner. Ademtos Mandrapilias went to the cornerflag to take it. Glasgow's Ademtos Mandrapilias was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Teo Constancio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Apollon Limassol's Teo Constancio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Apollon Limassol from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Glasgow booed when Apollon Limassol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. When Thrinakie Hagias fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apollon Limassol's protests and gave Thrinakie Hagias a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Apollon Limassol getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Thrinakie Hagias hit a great ball. When the match was over Glasgow could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Apollon Limassol throughout the match.
