FC Liverpool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zhivko Itev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 32 minutes into the game, Balchiq's Boyko Izvorski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arhangel Hazúrbasanov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vihren Veznev during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute Patrick Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalin Bumbovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Blagoy Kalburov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute, Zhivko Itev made a precise shot to the right of Arhangel Hazúrbasanov. FC Liverpool's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Balchiq's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ginyo Harizanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blagoy Kalburov hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Zhivko Itev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arhangel Hazúrbasanov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vihren Veznev got free with Arhangel Hazúrbasanov in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th match minute, Balchiq was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyko Izvorski to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. FC Liverpool's Arhangel Hazúrbasanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zhivko Itev in the 95th minute of play. The FC Liverpool manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Balchiq to win.
