The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leeds U.'s Radomir Gunchev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dragolyub Sendov in the 5th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Leeds U. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rayko Tzolov to maneuver through the defense. If Vihar Barutchiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radomir Gunchev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chudomir Gatzov in the 18th minute of play. Severin Kenov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svetlan Rinkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Chudomir Gatzov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Radomir Gunchev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29th play minutes Chudomir Gatzov shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Radomir Gunchev and just under the crossbar into goal. Severin Kenov made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Vihar Barutchiev sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd match minute, Golchinka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Belotelev to maneuver through the defense. Totyo Michkov hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Radomir Gunchev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chudomir Gatzov in the 39th minute of the match. Radomir Gunchev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chudomir Gatzov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chudomir Gatzov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute of the match Vanko Karamishev shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Radomir Gunchev showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Svetlan Rinkov to strike the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Golchinka's Radomir Gunchev threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chudomir Gatzov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Totyo Michkov's late challenge caught a Golchinka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Totyo Michkov helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Leeds U. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Totyo Michkov hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rayko Tzolov during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Leeds U.'s Rayko Tzolov got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Golchinka's Zahari Gumnerov tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Radomir Gunchev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chudomir Gatzov in the 71st minute of the match. Dragolyub Sendov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Golchinka's Chudomir Gatzov got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Radomir Gunchev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dragolyub Sendov in the 77th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Dragolyub Sendov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radomir Gunchev. Leeds U.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dragolyub Sendov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3.
