The supporters of DXC Technology booed when Blackburn Rovers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jason Roberts didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Svetozar Mildov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Asparuh Lipchev hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute Lulcho Hantov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brad Friedel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lulcho Hantov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brad Friedel having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Lulcho Hantov managed to get in a good position for a shot. DXC Technology's supporters rose to their feet, but Lulcho Hantov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brad Friedel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rusi Hubchev hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Blackburn Rovers FC's Alan Shearer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Biser Vaklinov. Biser Vaklinov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. DXC Technology's Lulcho Hantov got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Svetozar Mildov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yane Kadiyski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Brad Friedel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lulcho Hantov in the 44th minute of play forced Blackburn Rovers FC's goalkeeper Brad Friedel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DXC Technology's Svetozar Mildov got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Alan Shearer made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 58 minutes, Minko Roshkev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blackburn Rovers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Minko Roshkev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yane Kadiyski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brad Friedel having to interfere. Minko Roshkev might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Biser Vaklinov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Minko Roshkev ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Blackburn Rovers FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Severin Grashev hit a great ball. When Alan Shearer came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Blackburn Rovers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Shearer couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the game, Blackburn Rovers FC's Minko Roshkev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Biser Vaklinov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 81st minute, Tinko Totin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Biser Vaklinov was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 86th minute, Svetozar Mildov made a precise shot to the right of Brad Friedel. Blackburn Rovers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 93rd minute, Minko Roshkev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Biser Vaklinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Shearer, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Blackburn Rovers FC had won after a very even match.
