Bulut Tokyürek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uğuralp İsfendiyar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Sedat Tuluk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ahmet Sedat Tuluk came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Elazigspor JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Sedat Tuluk couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Halis Sarıdoğan got a free kick in the 46th minute. Elazigspor JK's Ahmet Sedat Tuluk managed to work through Borussia Dortmund's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ahmet Sedat Tuluk dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmet Sedat Tuluk to make the kick off. Uğuralp İsfendiyar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bulut Tokyürek having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Elazigspor JK's zone, Alphan Yenal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lemi Özdamar came out of the goal and Alphan Yenal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bulut Tokyürek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Sedat Tuluk in the 65th minute of play. Lemi Özdamar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alphan Yenal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alphan Yenal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aras Görkem Bilgetürk in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lemi Özdamar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Elazigspor JK's Bulut Tokyürek threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ahmet Sedat Tuluk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 78 minutes into the match, Elazigspor JK's goal looked a bit too open when Aras Görkem Bilgetürk came free, but Lemi Özdamar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alphan Yenal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Lemi Özdamar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uğuralp İsfendiyar struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Bulut Tokyürek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elazigspor JK. Elazigspor JK were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Borussia Dortmund to leave the ground with a draw.
