Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Şentürk Nursal in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerry Vassenius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fahrettin Üzer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jerry Vassenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Ergani's Fahrettin Üzer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerry Vassenius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fahrettin Üzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ergani's Fahrettin Üzer got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Şentürk Nursal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Vassenius having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ayvalık Kartalı JK's zone, Fahrettin Üzer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Vassenius came out of the goal and Fahrettin Üzer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Şentürk Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerry Vassenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şentürk Nursal in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Ayvalık Kartalı JK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fahrettin Üzer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jerry Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şentürk Nursal, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Akgün Hürsoy kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Şentürk Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. Şentürk Nursal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Vassenius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ayvalık Kartalı JK's Ergincan Özgun got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jerry Vassenius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Şentürk Nursal's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Jerry Vassenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dursun Ali Özatay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Şentürk Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
