A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Altay Bayramoğlu hit a great ball. Akay Işın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hacı Ali Atik in the 5th minute of play. Galatasaray's Akay Işın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hacı Ali Atik in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute Hacı Ali Atik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akay Işın saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Galatasaray's Akay Işın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hacı Ali Atik in the 14th minute of play. Akay Işın showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hacı Ali Atik in the 16th minute of the match. Hasan Can Rebi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akay Işın having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Hasan Can Rebi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Akay Işın was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 26th minute, Sertaç İskenderoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, Nuralp Akıncıbey recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rüstem Tolay. Nuralp Akıncıbey showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 35th match minute, Yazihan JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulu Hatırlı to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th match minute, Yazihan JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ertuğrul Köken to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Yazihan JK's goal looked a bit too open when Nuralp Akıncıbey came free, but Rüstem Tolay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rüstem Tolay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bülent Övünç, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Sertaç İskenderoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuralp Akıncıbey to make the kick off. When Latif Hüdayioğlu fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galatasaray's protests and gave Latif Hüdayioğlu a yellow card for diving instead. Türker Avcu hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Akay Işın was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tahir Tuğsan. 59 minutes into the game, one of Yazihan JK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Galatasaray. Gökçek Doğanay stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rüstem Tolay. 2-1. In the 64th minute, Ümit Hunalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hacı Ali Atik received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Akay Işın came out and tried to block the shot, but Hacı Ali Atik slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute, Nuralp Akıncıbey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galatasaray fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Galatasaray's Nuralp Akıncıbey got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Hasan Can Rebi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akay Işın came out of the goal and Hasan Can Rebi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Altay Bayramoğlu fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galatasaray's protests and gave Altay Bayramoğlu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Altay Bayramoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yazihan JK's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Galatasaray had won, even though Yazihan JK had held more of the ball.
