Hurşit Kamuran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Muharrem İcabi made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Göktas's zone, Şerafettin Başöz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. İbrahim Efe Akyazıcı came out of the goal and Şerafettin Başöz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hurşit Kamuran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 minutes, Bora Han Karataş mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tarsus SK and the Göktas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Göktas booed when Tarsus SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bora Han Karataş didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hurşit Kamuran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bedri Koç fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Göktas's protests and gave Bedri Koç a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th match minute, Göktas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bedri Koç to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Hurşit Kamuran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Muharrem İcabi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 45th minute, Can Ekinci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match Yıldıray Bahçıvan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Muharrem İcabi skillfully saved the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Tarsus SK's goalkeeper Muharrem İcabi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hurşit Kamuran. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Şerafettin Başöz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Neşat Yumus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Tarsus SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ersin Vefalı came free, but Muharrem İcabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Süruri Ömürcan put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of İbrahim Efe Akyazıcı. After 72 played minutes Tarsus SK got a freekick which was hit by Bora Han Karataş. Süruri Ömürcan took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised İbrahim Efe Akyazıcı. Tarsus SK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
