Nuralp Akıncıbey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Suphi Tulum having to interfere. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Somaspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emir Bucak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Somaspor's Suphi Tulum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artaç İncili in the 32nd minute of play. In the 40th match minute, Galatasaray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altay Bayramoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Artaç İncili struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Suphi Tulum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Somaspor's Suphi Tulum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Somaspor from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nedim Zoral during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Akay Işın showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kılıçhan Akergin in the 91st minute of the match. Galatasaray's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
