Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Yılmaz Belen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kılıçhan Akergin, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Suphi Tulum came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by KızılKalkan's Ahmet Hakan Tanbolat. But to his dismay, Ahmet Hakan Tanbolat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Yakup Kadri Taygar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Demir Ziyaettin hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Somaspor got a freekick which was hit by Demir Ziyaettin. After a defensive mix-up in Somaspor's zone, Yakup Kadri Taygar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Suphi Tulum came out of the goal and Yakup Kadri Taygar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Somaspor defense, Yakup Kadri Taygar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Suphi Tulum. The Somaspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Suphi Tulum should have stopped the shot. Somaspor's attentive Oktay Rezzak managed to snatch the ball when Hüseyin Can Bağcıoğlu made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game.
