Bülent Övünç took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yılmaz Belen. Yılmaz Belen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Yılmaz Belen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nuralp Akıncıbey's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goalkeeper Akay Işın had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yakup Kadri Taygar. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Yakup Kadri Taygar managed to get in a good position for a shot. KızılKalkan's supporters rose to their feet, but Yakup Kadri Taygar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Akay Işın breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artaç İncili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yılmaz Belen having to interfere. If Nuralp Akıncıbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KızılKalkan's Yılmaz Belen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bülent Övünç in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Hakan Tanbolat was the one to do the kick off. Taner Özertan kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Nuralp Akıncıbey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Şimşek Alatay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute of the match Şimşek Alatay shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Akay Işın showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the game, one of Galatasaray:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a long run with the ball, Berker Karay did a trick in the 66th minute in front of Galatasaray's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-2. An impressive performance by KızılKalkan's Berker Karay! In the 68th match minute, Galatasaray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bülent Övünç to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet Hakan Tanbolat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Akay Işın tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Hakan Tanbolat in the 78th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Akay Işın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuralp Akıncıbey might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yılmaz Belen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Latif Hüdayioğlu didn't quite understand what happened when in the 97 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet.
